On June 28, 2025, Professor Demitro, an expert from Ukraine, visited the Zhengsai Tengger Earth Space Ecological Restoration Innovation Demonstration Base
Professor Demitro was attracted by the 1.6-meter-tall wheat plants grown in the desert. Wang Fuzhou, the chairman of Zhengsai Group, introduced that this type of wheat was planted at the end of September 2024 and is expected to be harvested on July 20th. During this period, there will be no manual drip irrigation. Zhengsai's water retention, seepage reduction and evaporation reduction technology is adopted to well preserve the excessive rain and snow water in 2024 at the roots of the wheat, effectively ensuring the growth needs of the wheat.
Moreover, although this kind of wheat has a very tall plant, it still withstood the 13-level sandstorm from April 11th to 13th without falling over or being damaged. This type of wheat is particularly suitable for desertification control. While preventing wind erosion and sand fixation, it also brings the benefits of organic, high-quality and healthy food ingredients.
After a day of investigation, Professor Demitro believed that Zheng Sai's desertification control technology adopts an interdisciplinary thinking approach, breaks away from the traditional desertification control model, and achieves visible results. It is particularly suitable for arid and semi-arid regions, has a large market, and is worth promoting vigorously.
